OPTIMA batteries always has safety in mind, with its spill-proof case it helps to ensure the safety of the environment, your family and you. OPTIMA can provide all the power needed to run these power pulling vehicles. There continue to be more lights, LCD screens, gaming systems, stereos, laptops, and cell phones going into cars, all demanding a greater power source. Over the course of the century we have upgraded and customized our vehicles in such a way never imagined by early engineers. Today's power demand from cars, trucks, and SUVs are greater than ever. With OPTIMA under your hood, you can count on a longer lasting battery life under starting and deep cycle applications. OPTIMA's unique spiral cell design offers the greatest technology in providing a strong and clean power source that far surpasses any of today's filled lead/acid batteries. But I was a charter boat Captain for many years and handled a lot of batteries as DIY kind of guy and helping out other boaters docked near me.The OPTIMA is like no other battery found in today's market. By weighing the battery, it's easy to see my point. Mostly due to internal material and construction. In my previous post I was actually commenting on what you said /quote/ " Now with consolidation of battery mfgs into three factories, regardless of what you buy, its probably the same thing but with varying warranties and prices" My point is, you can have three batteries all from same mfg with same cca and reserve but with internal/materials difference that gives you different price and warranty points. I invested in quality jumper cables 30 years ago and still use the same set. I do use AAA when my Lexus roadside assistance expires though. Based on having called a few tow trucks in my lifetime and waiting for their arrival to the point of being frustrated. I wouldn't put much decision weight on Bosch jump assistance (personal preference) because waiting time for assistance can be quick to several hours. Please share what brands have warranty replacement with no proration? That'd be a big selling point to me. That's my professional experience/opinion.Ģ) CCA (will it start in the craziest conditions)ģ) Warranty (ease of replacement, no prorating anything)ĥ) Application vs price (what is this going into, and how much longer do i intend to keep the vehicle with this new battery, no reason to overspend)Thank you for sharing your view and experience. All about $20 more than a generic starting only battery. I only used marine combination batteries from Interstate, Walmart, Costco. I could fish all day using the electric motor (intermittently) and still start the 130hp gas engine. I've owned boats for 25 years ( I was a professional Captain/fishing guide) with an electric trolling motor on the bow. Just making you aware of a cheaper alternative that still meets/exceeds your needs. Your 2.5 year experience is not typical or representative of the average car battery under normal use. Still well under $150 and likely to last 4-5 years of rough duty. They have automotive posts with a bolt and wing nut sticking out of the post for accessories. Auto parts stores as well as Walmart carry them. They also say the life expectancy is longer like closer to 6 years as opposed to mine which died at 2.5 years. You can buy a Marine grade battery that is a combination of starting and deep cycle qualities. For example - vacuuming the car off the battery or running hazard lights while it’s off which I do frequently. One advantage of Yellowtop is when you need to run the battery while the car is off and it doesn’t damage the battery to run it down (deep cycling). I heard that but also I hear people still satisfied w them.
